The Douro river rises in Central Spain to its mouth at Porto. This blue vein meandering through the North of Portugal gave birth to a green region with a long and rich history. It is the second most abundant and the third longest river of the Iberian Peninsula. At Movhera, we believe in a strong local anchorage and in establishing long-lasting partnerships with local communities and stakeholders.

Our hydropower plants have a total installed capacity of 1.7 GW and generate 3.2 TWh of renewable energy per year on average. We also secure a significant level of dispatchable green power through our pumped storage stations, offering flexibility, so that more renewable energy can be added to the grid.

Movhera helps the Municipality of Murça in the renovation of the Municipal Stadium
Movhera collaborated with the Municipality of Murça in the renovation of the municipal stadium, providing €27,500 in aid to replace its lighting. Thus, the Murça Municipal Stadium was equipped with “Light Emitting Diode” (LED) technology.
